Transmission: The Journal of the Awareness Field

Transmission: The Journal of the Awareness Field is going online on February 16, 2011 at transmissiononline.org. Transmission is the Journal of The Washington Center for Consciousness Studies. The purpose of the Journal is to enhance the study of the sublime art of becoming aware of awareness itself. This sublime process can be both the basis of psychotherapy and healing as well as the profound meditative experience of oneness between self and otherness. Human beings easily and relentlessly transmit their experience of their mind to each other but what is the wonder of all wonders is that they can transmit their experience of their sublime awareness field to each other, and within each other, with great and co-emergent consequences. As Dudjom Rinpoche, the great Dzogchen teacher writes "although hundreds or thousands of explanations are given, there is only one thing to be understood. Know the one thing that liberates everything- awareness itself, your own true nature."

The journal essays reflect both the meditation seminars as well as the advanced psychotherapy seminars offered at The Washington Center. All of the seminars programs are archived on the Center website www.meditatelive.com. One of the themes of emphasis is the utilization of the contemporary understanding of western phenomenology and contemporary relational psychologies in elaborating the profound understanding of Dzogchen, Mahamudra and Shavistic teachings on becoming aware of and living within the awareness field.

The journal is free and of course we look forward to having others writing and making contributions to the co-emergent and collective process of becoming aware of the awareness field. We are grateful to our root teacher Swami Muktananda who so many years ago gave us the suggestion and inspiration for this contemporary Meditation Center.
